Just today after booting up I find two icons for the printer in the
taskbar.

Tried all I know to remove one but no luck

Guess I could delete the printer and reinstall but there must be a simpler
way to remove one of the icons.

Any suggestions appreciated,

Thanks in advance

ADDED: To be exactly correct ,guess I should have said " In the
Notification area of the Task bar".

That's likely caused by the printer monitor software you installed with
the printer. You could look in MSconfig, startup to see whats going on.
(start, run, msconfig)

Thanks Bob, However that software has been installed for over 10 months

The second printer icon just showed up the first time tonight.

Boot to safe mode. Remove both printers. Reboot. It may find one, or if
not, install accd. to the docs.

Thanks Plato,

FWIW I just unplugged and replugged the USB printer cable and lo and
behold, only a single printer icon now shows.

Ho Folks,
I thoughtI had answered with the solution and thanks for your replies.

The solution was just before uninstall and raeinstall printer , for some
reason I merely unplugged and repluggedtheprinter USB cable.....and no more
duplicate printer icon.

Thanks again

Thank you for posting back the results.
