task bar icon

I was surfing on a site when I was done I ended up with an icon in my task
bar that blinks and want me to go to this site for spyware removel /download.
I know it a bogis site but I have not been able to remove the icon that keeps
directing me to go to the site for a download. I have searched my regedit,
win files no luck can someone tell me how to get this crap off the system
where does it reside??? the icon has placed itself in the taskbar and wants
me to go to the site to use the program. the web sit is called anti-vermins.

go to www.downlod.com and search for "spybot"and "adaware"
download those 2, install them, update them, and scan your computer with
them

I think that one is a virus-malware pretending to be a antispyware.. I cant
remember how I removed it from one pc
but if you click it and see its name, google for that and you will find
results

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

Standard caveat: If the procedures look too complex - and there is no
shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA). Please be aware that not all local shops are skilled at
removing malware and even if they are, your computer may be so infested
that Windows will need to be clean-installed. Have all your data backed
up before you take the machine into a shop.
