duplicate icons in Control Panel

I have four "NetWork Setup Wizard" icons in my Control panel. Does
anyone have any idea how the three duplicates got there or how I might
get rid of them? Thanks to any suggestions!

Ramesh,

I found no alternate versions of that file in my windows/system32
directory (yes I did have hidden files set to be visible). Could this
be a registry problem?

The files may also be named "Copy of netsetup.cpl", "Copy 1 of netsetup.cpl"
and "Copy of netsetup.cpl"

What Rey said. Or you could do a size-wise comparison (as in the link I
posted earlier) to see if there are any duplicates.

Already done. There was only one cpl file that was 25 kb in size, And
the number of cpl files matches then number of items in the control
panel minus the extra three duplicates.

Something new to report. One time, I booted up, and the extra icons
were missing, but the next time I booted up, they re-appeared. All of
the icons are functional.

Try this workaround :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load
ncpa.cpl = No
(REG_SZ value)
