Dual Boot Access

T

thindave

For various reasons, I have dual boot Vista 64 bit and 32 bit access on my
computer. Is there any way I can access a single Win Mail from either boot?
That is to have a single storage of emails no matter which boot I am using?

Thanks

It can be done but its very tricky. You would have to locate the message
store in a location both OSs could write to and then you would have to
equate the registry keys between the two OSs. See here for some details and
if you have further questions you can post back (www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx)
.. You can just set Explorer to show the various columns (by right clicking
on the column headers and choosing More) such as Subject and Date and Author
in the directory of WinMail eml files, and by that actually read the
messages while in Explorer.

In addition to what Steve responded, there is this caveat:
All account passwords will need to be reentered each time you switch to the other OS.
The reason for this is that Windows encrypts the passwords on a 'per user' basis.

That's explained on the website I referenced as well.
