If you buy an upgrade version of Windows XP, it is only legally valid if it
is used to UPGRADE a previous OS. It is not legally valid to purchase an
upgrade copy based on an installed OS then do a parallel installation,
leaving the "upgraded" OS intact either on the same machine or elsewhere.
Thanks, I think I can read between your "legal" lines.
The reality is, if I own 2 legal copies: one of 2000 and
one of XP, then I am doing nothing wrong. My intent,
believe it or not, is to learn XP then migrate over, hence
removing the legally owned 2000. The only temporary gain
to me is to still be operational.
Thanks
