I have a HP Pavilion 6545C machine and upgraded to Win
2000 Pro. Now I have no sound. HP doesn't have a new
driver for 2000 and I can't find one for Microsoft. Any
suggestions, other than to buy a new sound card and
install it.

You need to know the make/model of soundcard then go to their site for
drivers
Aida32 http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php will give a wealth of info on yr
sys, if you cannot identify it by other means.
