DPI setting

I attempted to increase the size of fonts on the web and went to Display, settin
advanced, and switched to 200%. After restarting, I notice
that the window in which the DPI can be changed was so larg
that it disappeared under the control bar at the bottom of th
screen. This disabled me to use the "apply" or "ok" button t
reduce it. So I am stuck with these huge fonts. How to get out o
this?

Hi Markus,
You can boot the computer in safe mode to reset your display settings,
reboot . Then again readjust the display settings.
To boot to safe mode tap the f8 key as the computer starts booting.

DPI changes the display to make inches bigger for all purposes - so
windows such as that defined as so many inches across get bigger too.
You can though navigate round it with the TAB key,

When you first load Display, if you can see Settings, click that, if not
click 4 times on TAB them 5 on the right arrow, to take you along to the
Settings page. Click TAB 4 times makes Advanced the default button, so
Enter will get you onto the page where you can change DPI and then TAB
five times will take you to Apply, hit Enter and Enter again to say Yes
that's OK, and two more tabs to accept that at the outer level. Tricky
- but does work

Just remembered another possible approach. That Display window responds
to the Alt-spacebar to get a menu, hit that then hit Alt-M and you can
move the window around with the arrow keys - you will just see an
outline of its edge until you hit Enter. So you could move it down,
get onto the Settings page, then move it Up until you can just see the
bottom edge

(And I don't think the Safe Mode idea works when you have set the DPI
setting up to a big percent, that will still apply and the panel
concerned will seem just as enlarged)
