Downloading

I am presently having problems downloading from any website, can anyone help
me I have windows xp and internet 6 version. i am fairly new to computers and
i think some box has been ticked which is stopping me download and i can't
get any sense from technical support @ talk talk

What happens when you try to download a file? Any error messages?

Have you tried right-clicking the download link and clicking "Save Target
As"?

I am receiving an error problem stating that web page is not available please
try later.this appears every time i go to download, also there is no time
left or estimated figures showing.
