Downloading on Microsoft HELP

Why does my computer not download from microsoft? I can click on a program
to download and it takes me to the validation page. Then I click validate
and it takes me to the active x screen but nothing happens. I press the
alternative method and it goes to a page not found error. HELP!!!!

What "program" are you trying to download? MS don't have download programs
other than trial versions of Office......AFAIK.......

Check the top of the screen in the validation page...you must confirm
download of the validation ActiveX component before you can proceed

I know that. But the active x bar doesnt drop down like it says it is
supposed to. That is why I click on the alternate method.

I was trying do download Windows Defender Beta. But even when I try to
install MSN Messenger and Explorer it gives me an error telling me to go to
some membercenter.something or other and when I go there, I get the same page
error like when I try the alternative method of authenticating at Microsoft.
