Downloaded files from Windows Update Site

wanted to make a complette syste,m backup and it indicated that I nneded 28
MB of frre space on my second drive which is not available. I had
inadvertently downloaded all the langauage files from WU. I wanted to
eliminate the downloaded files since they all failed to install.

My quedstion: Where does Vista save the downloaded files and can I delete
them?

I am using Vista Ultimate.

Windows Updates are downloaded to
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

numerous sub folders.

You can delete the contents inside the "Downloads"
sub folder. Have you rebooted since your last update?
If so, it should be safe to delete those contents.

If you download anything in Vista the default is the folder I indicated. It
does not go to a system folder.
