download problems

I can't download anything from any site - any
suggestions? I'm on Interner Explorer 6 & XP Pro.
 
Check your Security Settings under the Tools->Internet Options->Security
tab->Custom Level section and make sure you have "file downloads" enabled.
It may be that the security setting was changed?

Also, are you able to save the file manually by selecting Save Target As...
when right clicking it?

Rule out parasites.
Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
