Internet Explorer cannot download

I am having trouble downloading any file (PDF or Word)
with Internet Explorer 6 (with Service Pack 1). After I
hit 'open' or 'save' I get the error message "Internet
Explorer cannot download <file> from <server>. Internet
Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The
requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
Please try again later." Trying again later never works,
while going to another computer always does (so the
problem is not with the other site). Any suggestions as
to how to fix this (and remember I can't download
anything!).

I am having the same problem. At first, I thought it was a problem with just my computer, but now, I wonder. I get the same error message no matter what I try to download. I was trying to download Yahoo! Messenger and it wouldn't do that either. I have tried some other things from the Dell support website, but those don't seem to work either. I will be interested in knowing what can fix this also. I will keep checking back for a solution...thanks
