My husband's computer has quit downloading any files from the internet, so we
updated to IE 6, maybe that would sovle the problem, it didn't. I though it
was just one website, but it is everthing with the exception of microsoft.
It downloaded and installed the unpdates. This is the error message that we
are receiving:

Internet Explorer cannot download <Filename> from <Internet site>

Internet Explorer was unable to open this internet site. The requested site
is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

My husband's computer is runnig 950MHZ, 20G HD, WIN ME.

Thanks for any help you can give

Windows ME? That god-awful excuse for an operating system needs to go.
But, barring that, have you scanned his system for viruses, Trojans and
other malware? Have you updated ME to patch all the multitude of
vulnerabilities it has? Are you running a firewall on his system?

We are networked and has had a firewall in place for sometime. This is a
recent problem. The computer is almost 6 years old and ME was the OS that
was on the computer. He scans for virus and spyware everyother day. We have
two data miner programs on the computer called eUniverse and Gain which we
cannot get off. I have been told we probably will have to reformat to get
rid of. Did critical updates yesterday and still did not have any affect.

Any other suggestions? Thanks
