When i was playing Doom 3 I set it to Ultra quality and it warned me it was
going to use 500 megabytes of Texture memory. Can someone PLEASE PLEASE
PLEASE tell me what this is.

Hi behemoth100,

The "Texture" portions of the graphics being rendered by the
game would be stored either in your AGP video cards RAM,
or if you don't have that amount stored on your card, it will be
stored in your main system memory which is NOT a good idea
since it will significantly reduce Doom 3's performance. Visit:

this is behemoth100: Hey Jimmy thanks. just one qustion. i have a 256
megabyte graphics card and 768 megabytes of RAM. Would i be able to play Doom
3 on Ultra quality if it says its going to use 500 megabytes of Texture
memory?

you should be able to, but you're going to pay for it in performance.

behemoth100, I wouldn't recommend it. You should have a
512 MB graphics card if you want to run D3 in Ultra Quality.
