what would you recommend?
:
Hi behemoth100,
I haven't tested this myself as I don't have the game, however
you should be able to, but you're going to pay for it in performance.

this is behemoth100: Hey Jimmy thanks. just one qustion. i have a 256
megabyte graphics card and 768 megabytes of RAM. Would i be able to play Doom
3 on Ultra quality if it says its going to use 500 megabytes of Texture
memory?
:
Hi behemoth100,
The "Texture" portions of the graphics being rendered by the
game would be stored either in your AGP video cards RAM,
or if you don't have that amount stored on your card, it will be
stored in your main system memory which is NOT a good idea
since it will significantly reduce Doom 3's performance. Visit:

which although not specific to DOOM, explains this very well.
