Does "Embed True Type Fonts" stay in force until cancelled?

I have a signature font which seems to depend on my invoking "Embed True Type
Fonts" for it to be effectively utilized in Word documents. I would like it
to be automatic after selecting through the font menu only. Possible?
 
Font embedding is a per-document option.
