I upgraded from ME to XP 8 months ago. Prior, I set "My
Documents" back-ground to "Diagonal Sand". Under XP I
would like to remove the back-ground.
I tried removing desktop.ini, this had no effect. What
else can I try.

Thanks

Hi Fred,

Go to Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View/Reset All Folders.

Then go to Start/Run and type: regsvr32 /i shell32

You can't have a background without a desktop.ini. Therefore he did not remove the desktop.ini. Backgrounds are live it only requires closing and reopening the folder (if deleting desktop.ini) or refreshing the folder (if editing desktop.ini).

This fix still did not correct the problem!!
If I move My Documents to a new location, then move them
back would that work, and what would be the appropriate
steps to ensure success. Are there pitfalls to this.
Still Need Help
Thanks
