Disk input failure

My floppy drive and my cd-rw, dvd-rom, and dvd-rw will no longer read any disks at all. The drives are all lsted in explore
and when quiered in system appear to be working properly. When I put in a disk the message that comes up is that the disk is not formatted, or that the disk may be corrupted, even commerical dvd's won't play

Running XP Home editon ver. 5.1.2600 service pack 1 build 260
XP media player ver. 9.00.00.307
Intel Processer 4 -- 2.0 Gh
1Ghz Ram
