gathered from websites that you leave all the rest of the powe
management settings(in bios) disabled to avoid software conflicts! Ca
anyone please confirm this is right?
Ive installed all the drivers but when i go into device manager an
into properties for both the mouse and the keyboard, the powe

Why would the keyboard and mouse have Power Management tabs? There is
nothing to turn off. If they are USB devices, the USB hub should have a
Power Management tab.

[[The Power Management tab only appears for device drivers that support the
power management standards, such as network adapters. ]]

[[You can use the power management settings to specify that the operating
system come out of a low-power state to service an event. For example, an
incoming modem call will alert the system to service the call even if the
system is in hibernation. You can also specify whether the operating system
should turn off a particular device if it is not doing something, such as
servicing a call. ]]

[[Specifies whether the operating system turns off the selected device if
that device is able to be turned off. If the device is busy doing something,
however, (servicing a call, for example), the operating system will not shut
down the device. The operating system will try to shut down every possible
device only when it is hibernating. Some devices must stay on at all times.
If you need the device to stay on at all times, do not check this box.]]

[[Specifies the operating system to come out of a low power state to service
the event that occurs. For example, an incoming modem call will alert the
system to service the call even if it is in hibernation.
If this option does not work, it might be because your hardware does not
support this capability. Contact your hardware manufacturer for more
information.]]

[[Specifies the computer to come out of a low power state only when the
device receives certain types of network traffic, which are typically sent
by a network administrator. When you select this check box, the only network
traffic that causes the device to bring the operating system out of a low
power state is traffic sent by a network administrator. Clear the check box
to allow all network traffic to cause the device to bring the computer out
of a low power state. As a rule, if the computer provides services to other
computers, you should clear the check box so that other computers can bring
it out of a low power state.]]

Yes that did clear a few things up thanks... Ive just one more problem
with regard remote access from another machine.
Im using simple file sharing and trying to access the shuttle( running
XP Pro) from another Pc running Windows 2000. When both Pcs are running
theres no problem and i can access each others files sucessfully. Ive
set the Pc (XP Pro) to go into standby(s3) and when it does and i try
to access it from the other Pc(2000) it just says "Network path not
found" .

The only settings ive changed

In the Bios
Standby:S3 state
Power management:user define
Also ive tried "Wake up by PCI card"

In the OS in the properties section- network adapter(power management
section) in the device manager.
Ive enabled "allow this device tobring the computer out of standby"
and also "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Ive tried every combination of these settings but the shuttle still
wont come out of standby. Instead it says "network path not found!"
every time .Is "Wake up by PCI card" not similiar to "wake on lan"?
