Disjoin Domain

I have a PC that is no longer part of a domain and is now part of a
workgroup. The main user was a domain user. If the PC to the workgroup
name, what will happen to the domain user?

The domain user's account will remain on the computer but will be
inaccessible unless you have a local administrator account to log onto the
PC with.

That's what I thought. So, the path of least resistance is to leave things
are they are; otherwise, would creating a local account and using the
transfer wizard work well?

You could do that - but whatever you do you don't want to disjoin the
network before you migrate settings and files and test your handiwork.
