Windows XP computers losing connection to domain controller

Over the past several years I've experienced this same problem at two
different sites. Namely, Windows XP professional SP2 machines that are
connected to an Active Directory network will randomly not allow user to
login and will instead say that the domain controller cannot be found.
Restarting the PC doesn't help, the only solution is to disjoin and rejoin
the domain. Now this seems to randomly happen to computers around the site,
but there are a few that seem to have this problem every couple of weeks.
I've experienced this on both Dell and HP desktops that are up to date on
their patches. Any ideas about how to fix this, or at least what the
underlying problem is? (Domain is a new install version of Server 2003)

Any errors if you run dcdiag?
