disconnections

I keep getting disconnected although my settings are to never disconnect.
What can I do to solve this preblem. I am using Microsoft Windows XP

You may be using XP, but you could be connected by cable, ADSL, Dialup 56k
or ISDN.. you haven't given any clue to which one..

Modem drivers affect all of them , so check for the latest drivers..
