Disappearing filenames

I've had this problem before, but I can't remember what the solution
was. In one of my folders, set to display thumbnails, the names of all
the files have been hidden. That is, u can see the thumbnails, but where
u would expect to see the name of the file below the thumbnail, u see
the beginning of another thumbnail. I've tried reseting the folder under
folder options, and i've tried turning off auto arrange in the problem
folder. Neither of these has worked. Can anyone suggest a possible
solution to this problem?

Thnx

I am having the same problem with "My Pictures". Going in through the startup menu all of the the folders have lost their name. On opening the folders, some have lost the picture name under them. I cannot delete a folder becauses it is in use by another program and I cannot find out which program. This happened once before and I found the folder name in the Internet Explorer address bar. Beats me how it got there! I deleted the Cookies and Temporary Internet Files and this cleared the address bar and released the pictures folders so I could delete them.
I cannot locate what program is using the picture folders now. I am
running a virus program.
Maybe someone can help us.

Ok, I tried clearing the temporary internet folder, but that didnt work.
But then, I remembered that there were other folders on my computer
set to display thumbnails, so I went to one of those folders (the
filenames in this second folder were not hidden) and under "Folder
Options", I clicked "Apply to All Folders". This worked for me. Now I
can see the filenames again. Hope this helps u skittles.
