disable check names

I need to be able to send emails to addresses that are not in my address
book. I have disabled the "check names" feature in email-advanced options,
but it still won't owrk. The emial addresses are valid, just not in my
address book.

How do you shut off this bug?

I don't understand you. If I send an email to someone not in my addressbook,
I just type in the address in the "To" field. What happens when you do that?

Other than distro lists that I never seem to remember, I never use the
address book (i.e., the Outlook Address Book which is just a container
to the actual address books). I just start typing in the name in the
To, Cc, or Bcc fields. It I used it before, I might use the cached
value or just keep typing.

Peculiar that the OP cannot edit the records in his own address book
(i.e., contact-type folders). But then maybe it really isn't his
address book but the company's global address book - but then why can't
he request the record get updated there, or tell the other employee to
get their record corrected? Still doesn't prevent entering an e-mail
address into any field manually. Just because you are offered an assist
doesn't mean you need to use it.
