Direct X 9.0 problem

Microsoft says Direct x 9.0 is Windows xp compatable but
when I install it it says it is not windows xp logo
tested so it does not install please help

Are you installing it from the Windows Update site?

It's a bit general, but see:

"You Cannot Install Some Updates or Programs"

This is to resolve problems where you get a false indication that an update
is not signed.

I've configured my system to prompt whether to install unsigned drivers,
rather than block them completely.
