direct x 9.0 compatibility w/windows xp

I downloaded direct x 9.0 for windows xp. When I tried
to install it, I ran into a window that states that this
software has not passed windows logo testing for
compatibility. It then does not allow the installation
to take place.
HOW?
I GOT THE DOWNLOAD FROM THE MICROSOFT WEBSITE!!! It said
that is was for windows xp!!!!!
Is there a way to get around this? I need it for my new
video games. (7.0 or higher).

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is really frustrating!
