Getting STOP: c000021a {Fatal System}

The Windows SubSystem system process terminated
unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x77f92373
0x00acfae4)

This happens on almost every shutdown. Not at startup

This is a Compaq P533 win2k SP4. Have reinstalled SP4
hoping this would resolve, but didnt. Was thinking of
replacing the memory to see if that is the issue.

This machine is networked attaching to a Netware 5.1
server, client is version 4.9 SP1

Any ideas ?

Normally, if you have bad memory, you would get
some error at post, a short count, double beep (if
you have sound on system), etc.. I bet on some
conflict in unloading. (Or some lowly infectious
remnant) Try an online
http://securityresponse.symantec.com (this is a
good one).

Try downloading a small utility information program
from www.belarc.com that will give you broken down
list of all hardware and software. It will tell you
if the hotpatches for WMP (Windows Media Player),
for instance, need to be reloaded. And try Run...
SFC /SCANNOW . And SCANREG /RESTORE . Do you have a
copy of RegCleaner (not regclean - there is word it
could delete some of the needed parts of DirectX)?
What AVP are you using and what firewall? Have you
used Adaware and SpyBot S&d regularly?

Or have you done all this already? Do you have a
current ERD? Do you have a current good full
backup? If not, you can try an "inplace upgrade"
first.

Try this;
right click and close all programs icons in the system
tray before shutting down. If this works, isolate the
problem app. This has worked for me a few.
