Dialer keeps poping up

Every so often on my WinXP machine, even when I've no
programs open, the dial-up dialer pops up and clicking
cancel displays another - up to 4 or five. This is very
annoying - any ideas how to prevent this.

IE has the Tools, Connections, Always dial my default
connection, checked

Even if you have the internet Properties set to Never Dial
a connection the dialer keeps commin up...

I have the exact same thing happening to my compuetr i did as it says by
checking 'always dial my default connection' but it still pops up any help
will be useful.

You should check NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION.
