If i am not conected to the internet dial-up-connection always pop-ups when i
exit the dial-up connection window it returns within seconds of exiting the
last one. I am using Windows XP and i am trying to stop these dial-up
conection windows popping up as they are annoying and a very big pain as they
pop-up at any time. The dial-up connection windows are by windows and i
thiknk it could be something in my computer triguring them off encouraging me
to connect to the net. Please help me on stopping this window popping up.

Stewart,

you had your computer connected to the Internet in the past? Did
you always have the firewall enabled?

I guess not. If I guessed correctly, please read on.

The current statistics for the survival time of an unpatched,
unprotected PC connected to the Internet is 16 minutes to the
first infection. Usually, after a while, such PCs harbor a whole
zoo of viruses, worms, spyware, adware, and, most insidiously,
spam spewers. The experts' designation for such a computer is,
"zombie".

You will find it very difficult to remove all of these,
particularly the spammer host software, because it is
professionally made and often not detected, except for its deep
desire to get an Internet connection.
