I had some problems with my clunky desk computer and
reloaded xp pro, but in the process lost the ability to
have a dial-up connection. From tools/internet
options/connections, I then try a manual set-up, but get
an error '711 A configuration error on this computer is
preventing connection' advising I go to help. Help tells
me 711 means that the remote access service manager could
not start, and to see the event log. The log means
nothing to me, so I go to computer
management/services/remote access connection manager, and
when I try to start = error 5, the remote access auto
connection manager = error 1068. How can I find out what
my config error is and fix it??
