desktop too large

I changed my resolution to 1440 x 1900 which gives me the clearest display,
however, the desktop is too large and some the icons and taskbar are outside
the boundaries of the screen. They do appear when I put the mouse there and
it scrolls over. How can I keep the resolution and have the entire desktop
within the dimensions of the my 19" LCD screen?

Have you tried the monitor controls to resize the display?.. maybe there is
also a function within display properties to resize..
