Problem changing desktop resolution

Dear all,

I am having problems changing the desktop resolution on
my laptop Toshiba P10. The link below will provide you
with the full spec of the laptop:

http://www.toshiba.ca/web/specifications.grp?
lg=en&section=1&group=1&product=2391&part=1991

I am currently using the resolution 1900 x 1200 and I
have to admit that it is very nice but it is also really
small and after a while it can be a problem. If I change
the resolution to 1440 x 900 it is supposed to be a clean
stretch. Well, it is bigger, it is actually the size i
would like to use but the quality is not really good
compared with 1900 x 1200. The letters look blurry and
artificial, it is like having a really cheap screen!!!
I called Toshiba but they were not really helpful. I have
my computer up-to-date with everything (Nvidia drivers,
WinXP Media center etc....). It is difficult to explain
what I see but maybe some of you have experienced the
same pb before. Maybe it is just an option to activate or
I don't know but there must be a way. I could stay on
1900 x 1200 and increase the size of the font but maybe
there is a more proper way of dealing with this pb.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi,

The higher u set the resolution the quality decreases.
And so you can adjust the computer to display only modes possible to ur
screen.
right click on the desktop and then choose properties.
click on the last tab where u set the resolution.
ensure that the color quality is highest (32 bit)
click on advanced button
clik on the monitor and then check this box "hide modes that this monitor
cannot display"
then tweak with the refresh rate untill u see the quality that suites you.
