Desktop label delete

I have a label on my desktop that I haven't been able to remove. The machine
crashed and had no video drivers loaded when I rebooted. After reloading the
drivers, the machine runs fine but there is a "label" in the lower right
corner of the desktop wallpaper that reads;
Windows XP Professional
Build 2600......blah...blah..(Service Pack1)

Why did this appear and how is it removed?
