I have a desktop icon that i did not install or download. It is called "Hide
and Seek" and is a png file. I cannot delete it nomatter what i try. It says
that another program is using it. Can i find out which one so as i can
isolate and delete? I also cannot see the files properties. I have carried
out virus scans and they have come up with nothing. It appears to be the
cause of my lagging system. Any ideas?

Boot in safe mode - delete it there.

Boot up and log in as a different administrative level user - delete it
from the command prompt (do not use Windows Explorer at all.)

Use this little application to see what is using it:

There are many other suggestions out there - Google for "delete in-use
file".

Hide and Seek is the name of a tool that hides data in an image. Only
someone with the proper password can 'unlock' the data in the image. If
neither you nor anyone who could possibly have had access to your computer
installed this program, you can pretty much be assured it was placed there
by a virus or spyware.

I tried the safe mode delete. Same thing. What command do i need to type to
delete this pain in the ass file without going into explorer?

Never mind i have it. Thanks for your help.
