Desktop flashing

I have windows xp home. The desktop is flashing every five seconds
including any program that I have open like internet explorer or outlook
express. I have AMD 2400+ and this has never happened before.

Any suggestions?

I have the same symptom for a couple of weeks. I applied your tweak, but I
really want to know what is the cause of it. Why it started suddenly?

Kelly, every three or four days it starts flashing again even though I have
applied the fix several times. Everything okay for three or four days, then
it starts the flashing again.

What gives.
