Desktop background

Somehow I installed a bunch of unwanted pictures in my
list of backgrounds. I see how to delete themes, but not
background pictures. Is there a way to do this?

use the search tool to find the file names and delete
from the search tool.

They are under
c:\windows\web\wallpaper.

Just delete them and they will be removed from the list
of backgrounds

Windows XP fetches the image files (for background tab) from the following
locations:

C:\WINDOWS
C:\WINDOWS\WEB\WALLPAPER
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\My Documents\My Pictures*
C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer

Move the image files to a different location than above.
