Desktop Background

I cannot seem to be able to change my desktop background no matter what i
seem to do. The process i have been following is to right click on the
wallpaper, click on properties and click on background. I would select a
new jpg or bmp but the wall paper is still the same one that came with the
PC.

Try going into your display settings. go to your Control
Panel -> Display -> choose 'desktop' -> click 'Browse' ->
find the file you want -> click 'open'. Then
choose 'Tile', 'Stretch', or 'Center' from the pull-down
menu below the 'Browse' Button. Click 'Apply', and you're
done.

I bet you have forgotten to press [Apply] after making your selection! ?
