Desk top Icons

Hi,
I installed Win XP on my computer but there are no icons
on my desktop. I can access everything through Start menu,
but the desktop is empty. The only icon I have on my
desktop is a "Recycling Bin"
What can I do to fix this problem?

Right click the Desktop, select Properties, Desktop, Customize Desktop.

You still must make shortcuts for the programs, Start/All Programs choose
the program, right click, Create Short Cut, drag to desktop.
