Dell XP Wont Standby

Hi There.

I bought a Dell PC a few years back. It used to standby perfectly as
well as hibernate. I went onto it recently, and when I click Shutdown
in Start Menu, Standby is Greyed-Out and I cant press Shift to see
Hibernate Either. I have also looked in Control Panel and Power
Options, and Standby and Hibernate Options have Dissapeared!!!

Please Help!

Just move to CMOS / BIOS setup by pressing DEL (or whatever required by your
BIOS) at the time of system startup. Here enable the APM / ACPI setting under
Power Management option. If you can not find them try loading BIOS Default
Settings. Save and Exit. Now check if the StandBy is available.
