Is their a setting somewhere which I can set to delete files in my
temporary
folder when I shut my machine down? They seem to build up in here and I
check periodically to delete them.
Thanks

Hi Tony,
There is, but it will empty the folders not delete them!.
On the IE for example, you can click Tools >> Internet Options >> click on
Advanced Tab and scroll down under Security option:
[$] Security
[ ] Empty Temporary internet Files on exit [check this box]
Click on the General Tab and set the History to one day then click
Settings
button and resize the Temp folder to say between 50-80 MBs.
Then the Right click your Drive (C:\) and select disk cleanup and you can
do
that every week or so.
Run Defrag every month on your computer to keep things tidy and in order.
HTH.
