Is their a setting somewhere which I can set to delete files in my temporary
folder when I shut my machine down? They seem to build up in here and I
check periodically to delete them.
Thanks

Hi Tony,
There is, but it will empty the folders not delete them!.
On the IE for example, you can click Tools >> Internet Options >> click on
Advanced Tab and scroll down under Security option:
[$] Security

[ ] Empty Temporary internet Files on exit [check this box]

Click on the General Tab and set the History to one day then click Settings
button and resize the Temp folder to say between 50-80 MBs.

Then the Right click your Drive (C:\) and select disk cleanup and you can do
that every week or so.
Run Defrag every month on your computer to keep things tidy and in order.
HTH.

Thanks for that I'll follow your advice

One of the most effective tools for this is using ccleaner.exe

www.ccleaner.com

a freeware tool for removing various temporary files. It works much better
than the XP tools do.

Thanks Patrick I'll have a look at that.
