Yes, you probably are caching files.

Content.IE5 is a hidden folder.

Paste the following line into Start | Run and click OK...

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

See what opens.

Files are cached in
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
and
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
and the four subfolders.

To clean out Content.IE5....

1) Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | OK
Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop.
Or: Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options.
Best to do this with all instances of Internet Explorer closed. Especially
if there are a large number of files.
2) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
3) Check the box Delete all offline content {This cleans >> C:\Documents
and Settings\YourNameHere\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files AND
C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5 and Content.MSO
4) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the
temporary internet files
5) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that
websites have placed on your hard drive.

Content.IE5 is a hidden folder.

1) Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | OK
2) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
3) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the
temporary internet files
{This cleans >> C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files}
4) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
{Yes, one more time!!!}
5) Check the box Delete all offline content
{This cleans >> C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5}
6) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the
temporary internet files
7) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that
websites have placed on your hard drive.

To clear the Internet History in IE:
1) Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools
2) Click on Internet Options
3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Clear History
4) Click OK

I checked tool- advanced, its not that one?
I appreciate your help hope you can figure the out the other one too.
My knowledge began with W98/2 and it wasnt that good.

Man when I reread my last post I realize I must proof read .

LOL
So how do I make those files visible?

Create a shortcut to...
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
and use the shortcut.

You cannot access your TIF's in the normal way in Windows Explorer, you have
to sneak up on them.

To view:
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | OK
Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop.
Or: Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options.
General tab | Settings button | View Files button

Or...

Start | Run | Paste this in the box:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Click OK.

To view:
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5 AND \Content.MSO

Start | Run | Type: cleanmgr | OK | Highlight Temporary Internet Files |
View Files button

Or...

Start | Run | Type: %tmp% | Click OK |

You will probably have to click the Folders button on the Tool Bar.
Click: [+] Temporary Internet Files
Click: [+] Content.IE5
Click: Random named folders
View
You can also view Content.MSO

Or...

Start | Run | Paste this in the box:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Click OK.
You can also view Content.MSO

Or...
Start | Run | Paste this in the box:

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO

Click OK.

Note: Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) will *not* clean:
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5

I don't know why you can view the Content.IE5 folder with Disk Cleanup but
it won't clean the folder.
I go to the same pages everyday so I dont want to delete them.

IMO, you're better off updating the files no matter how many times you visit
a certain web page. Unless you're on some really SLOW dial-up connection.
Also, how can I keep my computer from deleting my files everytime I
reboot? I checked tool- advanced, its not that one?

There are several utility programs that delete the TIFs. diskCleaner,
MRU-Blaser, CCCleaner, to name just a couple. Maybe you have one of those.

Avoid this.

Besides the TIFs, this also clears...

IE History, AutoComplete, Clear the TIF, Clear the Run MRU, Typed
URL's and Clear List:

XP Start Menu:
You have to switch to Classic long enough to get the Clear button.
Right click the Start button | Properties | Select Classic Start Menu |
Customize button | Clear button | Click OK | Select Start menu | Click Apply
|Click OK

Classic Start Menu:
Right click the Start button | Properties | Customize button | Clear button

Clear button
[[Removes the list of recently accessed documents, programs, and Web sites
from the Documents menu.]]

The XP Start Menu Clear button does not clear the Run MRU. The Classic
Start Menu Clear button will clear everything in the Run MRU.

Ooops...
You'll also have these.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files

Plus each has a Content.IE5.

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 is probably the only one
besides yours that will ever get anything in it.

If you use Outlook Express, with OE closed, right click a file, Send To |
Mail Recipient, files get created in the above folder. Some other
applications add files there, but I haven't figured out what.
