Temporary Internet Files

Hello to group,

Pls. I need some help.

I've just noticed a peculiar change regarding the location of my Temporary
Internet Files and this has happened in just the last few days.

Okay, when I *now open a webpage* the files for the page being viewed are
going to this location.
**C:\Documents and Settings\Star\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\C927CHMJ**
Yes, they are all going into IE5 Contents folder\C927CHMJ. And, if I display
list view, they are all at the end of the huge list.at the end of IE5
Contents\C927CHMJ folder.

Thii is the location the temp files for *open webpages were going*, and it's
always been that way on this puter.
**C:\Documents and Settings\Star\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files**.

#1. I want to *fix* the location back.
Pls., how do I stop current viewed pages from going to the
Content.IE5\C927CHMJ location and return the location to C:\Documents and
Settings\Star\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

#2. I will also need to move the TIF Folder from my Temp folder which I can
do, but I don't know how to stop the files from going into the
Content.IE5\C927CHMJ folder.

This seems so crazy, why would I want the TIF or Content IE5 folders inside
my Temp folder??
I don't know what happened, but I don't like it.

Thank you kindly,
Star

Hello "M and D"

I have been doing Windows since 95 and I have fixed the problem.
I've opened a webpage, the page downloaded to
C:\Documents and Settings\Star\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

The above location is where they *always* downloaded, downloaded to the same
folder as my Cookies!!
In other vs. of Windows, it's C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

I don't mean to be a bitch, but why are you telling me not to interfere w/my
puter. I'm not a Windows guru but a saavy user and I support Windows on
many levels and OS's.

Further, if I so decided, I could shutdown the puter. I have several
partitions, put in my install CD, re-format, and re-install Windows XP on
the C:\ partition. Nothing is on C:\ partition except Windows XP OS and
Windows Programs files.

I never much ask for support, do all myself, except I was really tired. I
almost took the puter down over the wkend. I experienced a Windows Explorer
Shell problem due to recent critical update, and I have a HP scanner. I
could not browse period, Send To was broken, etc... That is fixed, I did
the necessary Regedits, someone led me to the problem with the critical
update.

I still want the other TIF folder out of my Temp folder at
C:\Documents and Settings\Star\Local Settings\Temp
The IE5 Content folder is in the above folder... Temp folder

What am I thinking... it's my Temp fldr?? IE5.Contents in the Temp fldr??
Iit's gone, I deleted it the entire contents of my Temp folder and Windows
didn't object!!
Absolutely nothing wrong, I always delete the contents of the folder before
I run Clean Mgr.
I'm going to bed.
Sorry I took the time of the group.
