deleting program files for Norton Internet Security 2004

I needed to delete Norton Internet Security 2004
programs. When I went to the windows add/delete option i
Control Panel they were not listed. I then accessed the C
drive and manually deleted some of the files manually.
However, it would not let me delete them all. This pretty
much hosed everything up. So, I restored all of the
deleted files from my trash bin. The NIS2004 will open
now but nothing will execute. How can I now delete all of
the Norton Internet Security 2004 files so I can start
over?

I'm really surprised that Norton wouldn't provide an
uninstaller with their application. If you can't find
it in their program folder, you may want to purchase
an uninstaller program that will do the job. There
are several out there. A program like this probably has
files embedded in so many places, it would be virtually
impossible to discover and remove all of them manually.

I to had a problem with removing Norton Internet Security 2004; i
would'nt let me remove NIS2004 via add/remove programs nor would it le
me reinstall it cause it insisted there was a version already installed
The solution I found to be was a uninstaller patch from Symantec, whic
is free and will remove the old version from the PC, includding from th
Add/Remove options.. leaving the system free to try and re-install it.
It can be found at this link below

I also found the best way to reinstall it was to do a selectiv
install, do not install the Norton Antivirus Part at first; just th
Firewall and internet security; then after rebooting the system. G
back to Add/Remove programs then select Norton Internet Security an
then select install Norton Antivirus 2004. I had no problems wit
NIS2004 since then, and been more then happy with it.. if you have an
problems or questions please don't hesitate to contact me QUOTE
