Deleting a corrupted email from Outlook 2002

A colleague has received a 27Mb file in an email which seems to have stuffed
up his Inbox. He's been unable to see any email in the Inbox (opening it
simply produced a never-ending hourglass), but after some housekeeping,
archiving and compacting he can now see the other emails as well as send and
receive, but when he tries to delete the dodgy email the hourglass returns.

While the immediate problem is solved, he'd obviously like to get rid of
that particular email and while he's not desperately technical, he's willing
to follow instructions. Can anyone make a suggestion as to what I might be
able to suggest?

TIA

Have you tried turning off the Preview Pane before trying to delete the item
in question?

try selecting the one before and one after then delete all three holding
shift as he deletes. (copy each of the neighboring messages and paste to
make a copy if he needs them)

Thanks - it did the trick.

Much appreciated.
