When I publish my web site, files no longer needed are listed and I am asked
if I want to delete them, I select YES, but the files will not delete. I
tried deleting the files by marking them on the remote view and performing a
delete, but now I get the following error message.

"The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are
trying to connect to a windows SharePoint Services server, check with the
server's administrator to make sure Windows SharePoint Services is installed
properly."

I've contacted the server administrator and they referred me to Microsoft.
Up until about two weeks ago, unwanted files were being deleted.

Anyone have a clue as to where I go from here.

Thanks in Advance

Open the live site directly in FP and delete the files.

I've tried that, that's when I get the error message, if I publish and select
YES to delete the files, I get no message.

Are you publishing or opening the site directly on the remote server in FP at
http://www.yourdomainname.com?

When I publish, I get a message that there are files on the server that are
not on the local, then asked if I want to remove them, I select YES, I get no
error messages, but the files do not delete from the remote.

If I open the remote site in FrontPage and select one of the files to delete
it, I get the error message noted and still no delete of the file.

I do have the ability to manually delete the files with a file manager
provided by the host, but what a royal pain in the south end it is to have to
do that each time I change my site (which can be a daily thing for posting
schedules and things).

Contact your host and ask them to run a check on the extensions, then I suggest that you publish the
remote/live site to your PC overwriting your local copy, as they should then get both sites in sync,
then you should be able to delete files locally and then when publishing and have Change Page Only
selected, should allow FP to delete the file. However for this work correctly, you must at all times
manage the content of your site directly from with FP, not Windows Explorer or your host's file
manager app.
