Barbara

I have been trying to publish my web site with FrontPage. I can upload it
using an FTP program but not within FrontPage. I get this error Message:
Server Error: The Web server at http://kleekaiu.dot5hosting.com does not
appear to have windows sharepoint services installed.
Possible causes:
1.The web server may not have the frontpage server extensions installed
2. The web server may be temporarily out of service
3 If you are connecting thru a proxy server, the proxy settings may be
incorrect
4. An error may have occurred in the web server
If this server does not support the frontpage Server Extensions, frontpage
may still be able to publish to the server via ftp or webdav. Please select
one of these options and try again
Then I got an email from Tech Support of Dot5 as follows
Hello Barbara,

This e-mail is regarding to our recent chat conversion. I apologize. I
noticed that you are using Windows SharePoint Services. You will not be able
to use Windows SharePoint Services in our platform.

Hence, any features supported in FrontPage 2003 will not work on our
platform. The reason for this is that we have currently installed FrontPage
2002 in our servers. Also, Please try editing and publishing your site using
FrontPage 2002 and let us know how it works.

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Sincerely,

HELP!

1) Do not use FTP on a site w/ the FP SE
- it clobbers the FP SE
2) have your host reinstall the FP SE and try opening your online site in FP
3) ignore references to WSS (MS uses WSS and FP SE interchangeably

Thank You . we have done thing numerous times since june1st. It doesnt
help. I was going to try your suggestion to another to back publish, but it
doesnt pull up my borders then.

Your site doesn't appear to have FP SE installed, also your host is confused
about extensions...there is no 2003 extensions the latest extensions were
2002.

I can go back to my host, delete my site and reinstall front page extensions.
From there,

What exactly would be my steps. BTW I have had my site up for many years
but have never been able to publish with this service that I changed to in
Jan 07 thru front page. I have always had to use FTP.
