deleing a document.

I am trying to delete a document but the system wont let me because it says
it's being used by another application or person, but I cannot for the life
of me figure out what.. I've rebooted, even in safe mode.. how can I tell
what is using this document so I can delete it?

You may be able to delete the document from Safe Mode.
You enter Safe Mode while the computer is booting, by tapping repeatedly on
F8. You will get a menu, from which you can choose Safe Mode.
