As I understand your post, you want to:-
1 - delete a user profile
2 - rename an existing profile

To delete a user profile, right-click over my computer, choose properties,
click the advanced tab, then click the settings button against user profiles.
This will list the user profiles on your PC. If you want to delete a
profile, highlight it and click delete.

Note that deleting a profile is not the same as deleting an account. You
will need to be logged in to XP as another administrative user to be able to
do this ie you cannot delete a profile you are currently using. If you get
an error while doing this, please post the error message.

To rename an existing profile, create your new user account. In user
profiles (right-click over my computer, choose properties, click the advanced
tab, then click the settings button against user profiles), choose copy to
and set the path as c:\documents and settings\newusername. Set the permitted
to use to be the new user account.
