I have Windows XP with Service Pak 2 and just tried to install WD. This
message pops up "This installation package is not supported by this processor
type. Contact your product vendor." Anyone have any suggestions??

Yeap... you downloaded the wrong installation package. Your operating
system is probably the common 32 bit rather than the much rarer 64 bit
Windows XP Operating System, which you'd certainly be aware of if you had
it on your PC.

Try re-downloading the installer for your OS.
