Hello Leonard,

The 64-bit version is for 64-bit OS versiºns. Is named Windows Defender64.msi
The 32-bit version is for the 99% of the users is named Windows Defender.msi

The X64 is the 64bit installer - unless you have the 64bit XP Pro (which most
do not have) you will wªnt "WindowsDefender.msi"

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d is the 32 bit version (x86)

Hi Leonard,

Your most welcome, enjoy the file
(¯`·._.·Еиçеl·._.·´¯)

XP 64 is generally only for diehard techies, or systems so-equipped by the
OEM who can dig up the drivers for the system as sold--drivers are somewhat
hard to come by.

I just wanted to jump in here and say thanks! I have had Defender installed
for a while now and when I got the notification to upgrade, I was getting all
the way through the process and then getting this same prompt. I am off to
try again! This site is always so helpful!
