Defender to Replace MS AntiSpyware?

Then would it not make sence to have the same capabilities as MS AntiSpyware?
Such as the ability to negotiate a proxy? The interface of MS AntiSpyware was
better as well.

It has the same capabilities and more, in terms of detection and cleaning
spyware--that's the goal.

The update process was something of a problem for some users of beta1. In
addition, it wasn't a "good corporate citizen"--meaning that for
organization which centrally manage software updates to Windows products, it
did not update via the corporate WSUS servers.

The new version updates via Windows Update or AutoUpdate, both of which
should be functional on most Windows installation, corporate or home.

I understand that AutoUpdate won't work via a proxy which requires
authentication, and the only solution I have to offer is to have the proxy
set to not require authentication for connections to the Windows Update
servers.
